There is data that is readily available in the Polar CS 500 that can be better visualized when you pair it with this data link. For instance, there's a comparison chart between HRT, elevation and MPH, this can be helpful if you want to squeeze the most out of the training session. The interface is intuitive and very organized. The 4 stars rating is due to connection hassle. The range is a joke, you can have the data link a few inches apart and rarely will connect on the first try. The transfer speed is very slow but once is uploaded, you can disconnect the CS 500 and keep looking at the charts thru the Polar Web application. I bought this data link and to be honest, I am not impressed with the provided information, because the CS 500 already provide the same information minus the graphics. The datalink, though a bit pricey, gives you access to the polar website and its tools for analysis. I'm not a runner, and I don't bike as much as I used to, but I have been going to the gym to push iron around for a few years now. Though it's not cardio work as it's often conceived of, lifting weights involves the cardiovascular, and I like knowing whether I am pushing to the limits and getting cardio benefits. I wish Polar would support lifting weights better, but that's a bit much to ask from a HR monitor. For what I need, the datalink satisfies.
