## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the carbohydrate content please**
A: 73.5g per 100g

**Q: The measurements don’t add up, what is 22g of olive oil and 55g of water?**
A: The one I use us the rustic bread mix. I use 500 grams of the mix, 500g water, no oil. The company are very helpful if you contact them. I love this bread but didn’t like the soft roll mix so much.

**Q: Can it be made with baking powder rather than yeast?**
A: hi baking Powder will make it quite dense - however if you are wanting this as a flat bread/ pizza base - use baking powder and yoghurt - let it hydrate for aprox 10 mins before rolling out and using a hot skillet to cook for aprox 3-5 mins each side - for flatbread use garlic oil+coriender to baste for pizza- add toppings and place in over (very hot) for few minutes to finish off

**Q: Is this product suitable for vegans?**
A: Hi .. I have recently purchased and it is suitable for Vegans

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great mix, you need yeast and to tweak the recipe!
*by E***A on 28 September 2023*

If you buy this mix, yes you need to buy yeast and have sugar, water and salt for the mix too. It does mean that the bread mix a bit expensive but it depends how much you want to make your own free from bread. After my first bake I have the following tips that might be helpful to others. 1. If using dry yeast, mix in warm water before hand 2. Use the 5g of salt, I weighed it and thought it seemed too much sononly added about 3g, but I think after tasting the bread, the whole 5g would have been better. 3. It is a bit gloopy/ runny when you first mix. I added a handful of almond flour and it seemed to help without any issues. But I think as it has quinoa in, it would have probably soaked up the liquid as it proved. 4. Make sure you have somewhere to keep it warm while it proves. You have to prove it twice, so bare that in mind when planning on baking! 5. You might need to cook it longer or keep it in a oven turned off. I cut a tiny edge of the side after 1 hour, and it looked gooey (this is common when cooking with psyllium) so I popped it back in the oven but turned it off. I left it for another hour and a half. Then eventually took it out to cool down. Once it cooled it was fine (I cut into the middle and you could see it looked bread like). Taste wise it is a tiny bit lacking but that could be as I didnt use all the salt and salt brings out the flavours. I'd need to make it again (doing the method my own way). I'm experienced at free from cooking and baking, but sometimes when I come across something new, I'll stick to the method/ ingredients. If I were to make it again, I'd do a few things differently. It has turned out OK considering I was sure it would even be edible! It toasted ok, I'll probably use it for things like peanut butte toast, or bread to accompany soup/stew. Another person on here recommended the hungry scarecrow soft rolls mix if you wanted bread for sandwiches, so I've bought some of that to try too! I'll definitely buy this again, as consistency wise its got a really good crusty bread texture, it's doesn't have a horrible taste. Although I said it's lacking, it think if im using it with stuff like peanut butter or soup and stews, that wouldn't bother me, as I only want something to accompany the food. But I'll definitely try more salt next time and hope that improves the flavour (it's just a bit bland otherwise). I've taken off a star for lack of taste and price but overall this is a hit for me.
