I tried a less expensive one (ungrounded AC plug) and also the kind with just a transformer, and they had way too much noise on them. Truetone did a Good JOB, at a moderate price. I have a 1980s E/A Takamine guitar that required an internal 9 VDC battery, and I had to unstring it to get to it. (PITA) So, I brought the battery connections down to the bottom of the guitar body, and soldered on a DC jack, placed next to the 1/4 Audio/Out jack. Works GREAT! And if I want to get some guitar pedals and build a board for them, I've got a couple more 9VDC supplies on this (very silent, not just quiet), Truetone CS7 1 SPOT PRO! Elimination of multiple ‘wall warts’ is always a good thing and again with its single 110vac power lead, this unit is a great choice. The unit appears well built and has met all of my requirements for a noise free system. As you will notice from the specs, this unit has relatively high current capacity on all of its 9v outlets, more that enough for any effects pedal I’ve encountered.
