Blood River

Just a good ol' fashioned western. Not a million explosions,no political correctness, and no aliens,cannibals, or creatures just a good western.Good characters and a good story.

One of my favorite movies with Wilfred Brimley and Ricky Schroeder. Had it in another media form. Needed it on dvd. :) It's great. Thank you.

Saw this movie years ago and wanted to get it. Great movie, good video and audio.

In the not to distant past, the three main television networks spent money on Movies of the Week like this western. They were often cast with well-known television actors like Ricky Schroder and Wilford Brimley. I don't remember this movie ever airing, but I was doing some research on Ricky Schroder movies and I thought this sounded interesting. I am well aware he has become something of a toxic human being these last few years as he has swung to the far-right with his beliefs. At one point, though, he was someone I watched regularly on shows like "Silver Spoons" and I wanted to watch some of his early work to try to remember why I liked him so much when I and he were younger.This movie is pretty decent and feels like a television movie which is fine. This is a showcase for Schroder as he tried shedding his goody-goody image from years on his television show. That included being addressed as Rick rather than Ricky. Here he plays young Jimmy Pearls who starts the movie killing the three men who murdered his parents and burned down the family homestead. Soon, he is on the run and he meets up with river rat mountain man Culler played by Brimley. The two are soon on the run from a posse of men determined to kill Jimmy. A lot of adventures and shoot outs ensure as the two men flee with a group of men including the father of one of the men Jimmy shot hot in pursuit.Schroder and Brimley are fun together and have an easy rapport, and twenty-year old Schroder looks really good in cowboy clothing and a slight moustache. Surrounding the two men is the beautiful Canadian wilderness. This movie is really beautiful to look at. This movie wasn't a bad viewing experience and I could see myself watching this again,
