I've only needed the stakes and it's held well even in the wind. It's a great way to enjoy the beach with some shade. It's easy to get the sand out by holding it up and shaking the sand out. Cons The biggest issue is the travel bag. It's so extremely tight that it's impossible to get the tent back in and zipped up. Even factory packed, it's very tight. So the first time I packed it up, the zipper jammed and made a small rip in the tent. It would only need to be a little bit bigger to be useful. And it is very useful for carrying it, protecting the tent, holding the bag of stakes, and there's folding instructions written on the bag. I hope the manufacturer decides to make the bag bigger. Even with the directions on the bag, it's confusing how to fold the tent. It took me several tries to get it right.
