## Description

The D’Addario Artist Capo utilizes a patented trigger geometry, reducing the force required to open and close this premium guitar capo while applying even tension regardless of neck profile. Combined with the micrometer tension adjustment and direct horizontal pressure, the Artist Capo virtually eliminates pulling the strings side to side and the need to retune during use. Additionally, the trigger design and lightweight aluminum construction of this guitar capo adds no obstruction or noticeable weight to the neck of the instrument. Review: Quality and easy to swap on or off - I've had others but this is my favorite capo. It's just really easy to put on and I take off. I also like how you can adjust it so it doesn't squeeze too hard.
Review: My favorite out of several brands - If you are looking for a capo that isn't fussy this is it. If you find that your existing capo requires you moving it around squeezing it after the fact, look no further. If you have one of the cam based capos and you have to undo it a few times to get it right, this is the capo for you. I have tried most popular brand capos and this one just works. I don't have any moments where I thought my capo was correctly set but the high E string has a funny noise because it wasn't clamped just right. These things are just reliable. I like them so much I got rid of ALL my other capos and bought 3 of these. Remember to set the tension to your neck profile and you are done. Clamp and go! You will not be disappointed.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Which is better,  the artist or the tri action?**
A: I've only ever used the Artist. The bulk of the hardware is above the fret board, out of the way of the back of your hand. It's easy to use and the range of tension adjustment is prefect. The Tri Action has the release lever behind the neck, right where your hand is if you're playing chords anywhere near it; I can't imagine that not being an annoyance. I never tried a one, but don't plan on ever using anything but the Artist.

**Q: Is it genuine?**
A: I cant speak for other sellers, but shipped and sold by our company FretNation is a brand new genuine product from D'Addario / Planet Waves. We are a full line authorized dealer.

**Q: when i am done with the capo i like to clamp it to headstock.  can you clamp this capo to the headstock when not in use?**
A: I’m not sure if others approve of this storage method, but I’ve been clamping the capo to the headstock for over a year with no discernible damage. When clamping it to the headstock, I always have the flatter string bar on the front. The hard ‘rubber’ padding seems to prevent any issues.

**Q: Does the tension adjuster really help keep the guitar in tune? Most capos detune the guitar.**
A: The tension may not actually be what is detuning your guitar.  Different fret boards have a different radius, so the curvature of the capo used may make more of a difference than the tightness (not that the tightness of a capo doesn't detune guitars, it totally can!).  The type of capo that works on a Martin may not work well on a Taylor, etc.  I have a Larrivee OM-03, that has a slightly less curved fret board than other guitars, and this capo works well for that guitar.  I also have a Paige capo that works well on my Voyage-Air, but is terrible for my Larrivee (even though the tension on it is also adjustable).

Have always used shubbs. More recently, a Kyser, simply for ease of having it at hand, on the headstock, one handed on and off. Been playing a lot of bluegrass over the past 8 years. This capo has adjustable tension, like a shubb ! and has as much or less pressure as a keyser. the best feature, imho, it that this capo minimizes note distortion and tuning issues due to excessive string pressure, as you can use just enough pressure to have the strings ring clearly, and no more. (while i rarely capo my electric guitars, this is the best capo, again, because with lighter strings, and adjustable clamp pressure, there is no string/note distortion.) I prefer it to my trusty kyser. And, because it can have very light tension, its great for light gauge strings. I use it (another) on my banjos for this reason. Its amazing the difference on banjo. Capoing needs no tuning adjustment of capoed strings on banjo to be in tune. It is the best capo for banjo ive yet found. clamp it on, using zero adjustment pressure and, youre in tune. This doesnt happen with shubbs or kyser, as the pressure really puts the light strings out of tune.. Great vale and product good quality too, ive had 1 of 2 for almost 2 years, stll like new!
