Review: Bought this instead of a $1k+ exhaust manifold. - I have a new hobby. A more expensive and heavy-duty unit, such as a Miller-branded welder, might have yielded better results for someone more experienced, but I'm new to TIG welding, and to my untrained eye, the final results were excellent. The welder produces a nice, stable arc, and it never overheated on me, even during some fairly extensive practice sessions. The cost of this TIG welder was less than the cost of a new Ford OEM catalytic converter, and since I always wanted to own a TIG welder, I sort of feel I got this for free... thanks to Ford, and the experience described below. My 2015 Ford Explorer threw the dreaded P0430 check-engine light code, falsely indicating that the catalytic converter on Bank 2 was operating below efficiency. Most of what I researched said to simply have the converter replaced, but the OEM part is extremely expensive, and most of the aftermarket cats have poor reviews. In my case, I discovered two leaks in the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter. The ingress of unmetered air caused by both an inadequate pre-existing factory weld and a crack that developed in the bank 2 exhaust manifold turned out to be the real cause of the P0430 CIL. Armed with a good excuse justifying the purchase of this welder to my wife, I pulled the trigger and used silicon-bronze to TIG-braze repair the found leaks. I enjoyed researching how to repair cast iron and feel great satisfaction in having successfully mended the leaks and eliminating the P0430 code, which has not returned.

**Q: What is included with welder, I see nothing in the picture or in the description.**
A: Torch number 17,  ground cable, foot pedal, regulator/flowmeter, 110 220 adapter, are all included. Pictures are going to be updated to include everything. Sorry for the inconvenience,  we are aware. Thank you for your question

**Q: I am a paraplegic, so foot pedal no good.  Need a hand button and water cooling?**
A: Hi Rich, thanks for your interest in the Weldpro AC DC TIG welder.  This machine does come with a hand control button and even nicer,  it has upslope and downslope features which allow for a kind of variable control amperage just by using the button and the slope features,  but it is an air/gas-cooled unit, not water cooled.  Water cooling usually doesn't become an issue until you start getting up toward 200 amps and over.  However if you're not welding very thick metals the air-cooled units are usually all that's needed. **Q: What is the minimum welding ticknnes and max? Thanks**
A: Hi and thanks for your interest in Weldpro equipment.  Your question is a very difficult one to put an exact number to especially when talking about very thin metal.  So much of successfully welding very thin metal has to do with experience and technique.  You can weld extremely thin metal with a variable amperage TIG welder if you are experienced in doing so.  Additionally having features like this weldpro AC DC Tig such as pulse helps even more in welding thin metals I can't give you a number because again it is a matter of experience and technique while using the advanced features available with this machine along with other techniques such as heat sinks. Also remember while welding extremely thin metal you don't necessarily need filler rod. I've welding 2 razor blades together easily with this machine. On the other hand it's a little bit easier to put a number on thicker metal.  I would say quarter inch would be no problem,  but even heavier metal can be welded if you consider beveling and multipass welding. TIG welding is a great way to multipass weld.  And don't forget this machine has a very capable stick welding mode which when combined with beveling and multipass can very easily weld 1/2 inch metal or thicker if it's prepared properly.  With all that said TIG welding is a more precise form of welding and usually isn't the first choice for long runs of extremely heavy metal and that is where the stick welding function of this machine comes in very handy

**Q: Can argon post flow be set?**
A: Thanks for your interest in the AC DC Tig.  Absolutely, the post flow is adjustable from 1 to 15 seconds.  The full manual with all the settings is available at the weldpro com website
