It's the Munitorum Manual and the Uplifting Primer combined into one volume. It's pretty compact, and the hardcover means it's pretty durable. The actual information on simple tactics, survival, and field medicine is solid, if a bit obsolete. For example, in the field medicine portion, it's got a procedure for curing scurvy, which is interesting. For a Warhammer 40k fan, this book would provide valuable insight into the life and perspective of a Guardsman. It's also got a section in the back full of inspirational speeches, and also litanies for things like accuracy, or staunching a wound. Definitely worth it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A must have for any Warhammer fan (and/or Guardsman) *by M***T on December 4, 2020* The Imperial Infantryman's Handbook (the old Uplifting Primer and Munitorium Manual smashed together), is a humorous "in-universe" book, written as if it were your handbook as a newly induct member of the Imperial Guard. It's littered with Warhammer lore and jokes about life in the 41st millennium, including blatant mistakes and propaganda that you will get a kick out of (like how Orks are small and weak).It's also a good thing to snatch up. They do different editions of these fairly often (I got one in the last run that I think was 2012?), but certain editions are rarer and can command huge prices in the resale market between printings. If you want a print copy of this, its a good time to order. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ LIKE A REAL GOVERNMENT BOOK! *by J***O on November 5, 2020* I am a long time Lore Nerd of Warhammer Fantasy, 40K and now AoS. But I gotta say, this book really hits you with a dose of realism from that Universe that is comparable to ours. This book is difficult to read, boring, gray, drab and genuinely uninspired. Just like a real government text. This book was like a DMV Website, whilst reading it, I was praying that I was a real Guardsman and that a massive Ork Boy was coming over the hill to bash my head in and save me from another page, or that a throng of terrifying Tyranids were coming to absorb me, and this book into the Hive Fleet Biomass. After reading so much I rolled my eyes in despair that there was another page. I prayed that my Commissar would see my uncaring attitude and execute me for heresy or being lax on my duties. Then I realized I wasn't actually a Militarum Auxillia.So props to the author!
