Review: Amazing Device. Notes to optimize use. - If I have to be honest, I bought this product in 2021 when I had a flat tire once, and then I never used it again or thought about it. Then, four years later when I get it another flat tire, I drive to four different Wawa’s for tire Inflation. The first three are all broken. I have to wait in line for 15 to 20 minutes at a time and then realize it’s broken. The last one that I go to, after an hour of driving around concerned for my rear passenger side tire pressure, It over inflates my 42 psi pressure tires to 54 (I regrettably decided to “calibrate” all 4 of my tires), which caused intense alarm bells in my car, but now there were seven cars at the Wawa behind me and now I’ve driven too far forward where I can’t possibly now wait in line more. It’s 7:45 PM on a Friday evening. My will to wait in line is rapidly shrinking.. I despair, but in that moment, I recall that I bought this item 3 years ago and have left that treasure plunged in the depths of my car trunk like the one ring laying in gollum’s den. I flash back to this recollection, and now wield the energizer tire inflation device as if I’m Neville Longbottom drawing the sword of gryffindor from the clutches of the sorting hat to slay nagini, which is a metaphor for the direct threat on my will to not lose mind. I plug it into my Tesla, and it whirrs to life. I enter my desired PSI of 42, and miraculously, it recalibrates the PSI on my car and deflates my car to safe pressures. The only downside is that now every other patron of Wawawa that was behind me was making a crowd surrounding my presence, as if I am the new messiah here to distribute recalibrated and safe pressures to people who have been disfigured and wronged by this malfunctioning Wawa’s air pressure pump. It felt good to help them, but I was losing more time on my Friday evening. I will say that the meter is not exactly precise. It seems to overrate the PSI by +2. But you can quickly adapt to that, and that’s not really a big deal. Overall, if I had remembered, this was in the trunk of my car for three years, I would’ve saved my 2 1/2 hours of life on that Friday evening, which, honestly in the context of the rest of my life, should be multiplied several times over. In summary, highly recommend, but please note that it does overrate the psi by at least +2 .
Review: A Quality Product at a Reasonable Price - I just bought this compressor. So far I am VERY impressed. I've owned other 12V air compressors before and this one is far superior. It is heavier duty and more sturdily built. It is relatively quiet. I tested the psi of my bike tire (@ 95 psi) with an accurate gauge after I filled it. It was exact. The canvas carrying bag is heavy duty. I like that the valve is screw-on rather than clip-on. But not everyone may agree. Personal preference. Energizer's customer service was prompt and helpful when I had a question. Be aware if you want to use a 12V AC/DC adapter that this is rated at 14 amps. A 10 amp adapter won't do the job. You'll need the more expensive 15 amp adapter. Again, I couldn't be more pleased at this point. If my opinion changes after further use, I'll update this review. Update: The product has performed well. I liked so well that I just bought a second one for my other car. I changed my mind about the screw-on valve. It got to be bothersome after using it for a while. No problem: I just bought hose adapters that convert them to clip-on. That also gives the advantage of an extra 10 inches on the hose.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, but it's not perfect, beware of weak aluminum threads in the air chuck
*by B***S on August 11, 2020*

Update for December 2024: I've probably used this pump to air up around 200 tires in the 4 years I've owned it. Earlier this year, I noticed that the air chuck was difficult to thread onto valve stems. I thought it was the valve stems on the specific vehicle at first, but later realized that all of the threads are stripped inside of the air chuck on the end of the hose. The threads inside of the air chuck are colored like brass, but they're actually aluminum. I have ordered a 1/4" barbed brass air chuck and a twist-chuck-to-locking-chuck adapter to permanently repair it. Original Review from September 2020: I've had this a week and used it to top off the air in all 4 of my vehicles. Pros: - Relatively quiet. It's not whisper quiet but it's also not wake-the-neighbors noisy like a lot of 12V air pumps are. - Relatively fast. It's about 5x faster than my previous 12V pump. - The air hose is long enough for any tire. - Reasonable power usage. There are dual-cylinder pumps that claim to be faster, but they also draw a lot more power from the cigarette lighter/power jack. I didn't want to risk blowing a fuse, or worse. - Auto-shutoff. You can set the pressure and walk away. - Backlit digital display. Much easier to read than analog gauges, especially at night. Cons: - The carry bag. This thing is a total fail. It's just barely big enough so it's difficult to get the pump and out. It's made of really flimsy material so it probably going to break soon. It should also have a small pocket to place the nozzle/stem accessories so they don't get lost. - Gauge and shutoff accuracy. I don't fully understand this. I check the pressure with my calibrated analog gauge and it shows 33.2psi, then I attach the pump and it reads 33psi, so it seems accurate enough. Then I set the shutoff point to 35psi and turn on the pump. When it shuts off, the gauge reads 35psi, so I disconnect the pump and check it again with my calibrated gauge and it says 37.0psi. So, I let out some air until my gauge says it's exactly 35.0psi, then I connect the pump hose again and the gauge reads 35psi. So the gauge doesn't read accurately when the pump does an auto-shutoff. In my experience, after auto-shutoff, the pressure in the tire is always about 2psi higher than the shutoff pressure setting. That's not necessarily so bad since you can lose a little pressure with disconnecting the hose, but I don't understand how the gauge can say the pressure is 35 when it's actually 37. It's like the gauge stopped sensing just for the auto-shutoff. If I just simply disconnect the hose and connect it again, the gauge will read correctly. - 12V cord could be a longer. It will be difficult to reach spare tires in the trunk or mounted on the rear of some sport-utility vehicles and vans. - The place where the cord is supposed to be stored seems like an afterthought. - Too much plastic. I don't like that the handle is mounted into plastic, the feat/legs are plastic, etc. Seems doomed to fail for a variety of reasons when a little bit of metal could've prevented it. It'll outlast the warranty though, and that's all manufacturers care about any more. Update December 1, 2020: I've used this a dozen times and I think I've finally figured out the strange auto-shutoff pressure behavior. The pump appears to automatically inflate the tires to 2psi higher than the pressure that you set for auto-shutoff. After the pump automatically shuts off, just wait a few seconds and the display will show the actual pressure. I figured this out when I was traveling in the Midwest and used it in temps around 25F. Previously, I had only used it in temps over 100F in the Arizona summer. When it's cold outside, the display switches from showing the shutoff pressure to the actual pressure after about 2 seconds, but when it's hot outside, the display takes a few seconds longer to switch over to showing the actual pressure. I just never waited long enough before removing the hose from the tire when it was hot outside. It's also worth mentioning that this pump gets really hot when used for several minutes. I used it to pump up 4 tires from around 13psi to 37psi. I don't know exactly how long the pump ran, but probably around 2 minutes per tire with 15 seconds in between each tire. After the 4th tire, the cylindrical body was too hot to safely touch. I let it sit for 15 minutes before I attempted to wrap up the cords and put it back in the bag, but it was still uncomfortably hot to touch.
