I've tried various earplugs + swimming cap combinations & nothing has worked. This swimming cap doesn't keep 100% of the water out but it does keep about 90% out. Combined with earplugs it is enough to keep the water out of my ears. The small amount of water that does get in just dampens my hair - there isn't enough water for it to get past the earplugs. It is easy to put on & comfortable to wear. I wear goggles when swimming & the ends slightly overlap the cap so I have to lift it so that it is on the outside of the goggles otherwise water might get into them.
