The main base has a bevle joystick ancher. You loosen the nut to set the phone position, then you tighten it to lock into place. The arms are spring loaded release. Squeeze together to close. Press the easy access release button on the back of the bas to release the phone. The base attached to your heater vent, and the anker allows you to use both vertical and horizontal vents with easy repositioning. Its design comes with a lever locking "kick stand" that tightens the clip to the vent. The kickstand causes the clip to grip and lock tight into the vent, so if you hit a bump, turns a tight curve, or go over rough tracks, this product will hold firm and not fall.
