Review: Finally feel safe - Because of a handicap, I always fear falling down when am alone. I've looked at several of these gadgets and am I glad I chose this one! The price is modest and there are no monthly fees. It works very well. You can test both the network and the battery on a daily basis. As soon as I charged it (and it takes about 4 hours to be fully charged), I pressed the button and immediately got 911. I explained there was no emergency, that I was merely testing the unit. 911 was very understanding and told me the unit tested just fine. I like that I can be anywhere, inside or out, and can use it in an emergency. I do not tend to have my phone with me all the time, so this solves the emergency situation for me. EDIT: Two weeks later: I've already had to use this in an emergency. It worked flawlesslety. I have now bought another one

I got lucky, and saw a broken fire hydrant :D I jumped at the opportunity of calling 911 using this device. It worked perfectly :) Among other uses, I slip it into my pocket when I climb up on a chair - in case I were to fall. It takes forever to charge. I usually let it charge all day (and typically it takes most of the day), and keep it on a nightstand (NOT charging) at night. Unless you get a good system going with the charging, the odds are that you find yourself with a useless discharged device at the time you need it in an emergency!!! That's the Achilles' heel of the device (no battery backup)

**Q: If you lose consciousness does it connect to emergency services**
A: No, this does not monitor health status, it is just a tool (basically, a 'disconnected' cell phone that only reaches out to emergency services) and requires the user to push the button for help.

**Q: does it come with a cord for your neck**
A: No. Mine did not.

**Q: Does this device use batteries?**
A: Batteries not necessary as there is a charger.  Keeps the charge for a long time and is easy to test.

**Q: what are the demensions of this device?**
A: 2.5 x 1.75 x 0.86 inches; 7.2 Ounces. The a belt clip on it I use with a small sized "dog tag" chain. Works great. I recently pushed the 911 button by accident. They answered and could hear me, so I know it works.

I like it, it certainly does call 911 when you need it toThe only negative thing I would say is that even with the plastic shield on it if I lean against the couch it dials 911. It’s easy to cancel it though just kind of startling. It’s too bad that the batteries cause it to be heavy. I carry mine in my pocket and because of its weight it falls out all the time. So I’ve had to safety pin it to my jeans.
