One time I was sipping on three-hour-old coffee because it was still hot. The only concern I have with this mug is the lid. I didn't get a good visual before I bought the mug, but the open/closed flap on the lid is made of very thin plastic, and I'm afraid that will break if I open and close the lid too often or too firmly. I just stick a straw in the mouth piece to limit the lids chance of breaking.
