It can't be recharged with the old charger that can with the tool, so you'll need the upgraded charger. I bought a 2nd battery and a charger after the 1st battery finally ran out of steam - - which happens quickly - full function to no function in about 10 seconds - - so it's good to have a 2nd battery charged and ready. I was pleasantly surprised by how long it lasted with a full working load. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ JUST AS GOOD *by B***R on November 24, 2024* The off brand batteries always seem just about the same as the expensive name brands, don't they? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ seller replaced it; all seems well now... *by M***. on August 23, 2023* The first battery was useful once. Just once. It took an initial charge in my Hitachi charger, and then did not hold a charge since. However, the seller sent a replacement even though it was out of warranty (much appreciated). Upon receiving it, I charged it and then used it in one small project. Then I charged it again and it seemed to take a charge.
