You need two hands to guide the garment you are sewing through the machine.once finished then it's best to sew by hand(needle and thread)an inch to where the sewing machine thread has finished,Why?Well this machine does not sew via a bobbin underneath so no back stitch I'm afraid,thus sewing an inch or so to where the machine thread finishes, you are then able to tie two loose thread ends together and form a knot,this secures the stitching quite well.It has worked on my t shirt arms so far.I don't have any complaints about this machine at all.It comes with an instruction manual so it is very easy to follow.Yes,I like this machine and quite somewhat pleased with purchasing it. Yes it is Magic.....Magic if you get it to work properly. I only wanted it to match the stitch on jeans bottoms, when my machine packed up after doing one leg.So really bought for one simple job and it couldn't even do that. I did it by hand without hassle in less time it took to get this thing to produce a continuous line of stitches. It does NOT do heavy fabrics like denim. It will stitch single layer denim but will pull stitches out before one gets a chance to tie them off. Also bobbin cap springs off unexpectedly. Also the stupid needle threader is hopeless.
