But if and when it did it took ALOT of shaking.... It takes a fair amount of effort to get fruit juice, etc, to a truly slushy consistency (my 8yo needs my help to get it to work), and the amount of slushy left over after you take out the cubes is pretty small. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Fun *by A***M on December 27, 2012* I wish I had been the person who thought this up. It is a simple concept and great fun for the kids. The product is selling for more than it's worth but it seems to be the 'it thing to have this year' and it's not horribly expensive so people are willing to buy it.This is a cup, a lid, three plastic ice cubes and a straw. That is it. The ice cubes are essentially salt water in a silicone sealed up cube. Similar to making ice cream, you freeze the ice cubes and they get very cold and then they freeze the liquid around them. However because they are small the don't completely freeze the liquid, thus making a slush.We have tried a wide variety of liquids. We have tried just about everything but milk at this time. When you do this with cokes it slushes but the coke or soda melts quickly right back into liquid so it does not stay 'slushed' very long.The directions are very clear. The process to slush stuff is very easy.The con to this product is that it comes with a straw but it does not have a place to put the straw. The hole on the top of the lid is not big enough to put the straw in it. The hole is simply there to let off the gas produced when you shake up your coke to slush it. It would take very little to make a place to store the straw but since there isn't one, I would rate this a low 5 stars.The product works as advertised, it is fun to use and easy to use.Enjoy. ### ⭐ No magic here *by K***M on January 17, 2014* Waste of money.
