First time using it. Ran in forward for 30 seconds and then stopped. After 10 minutes of moving the throttle back and forth forward started working but reverse stopped and never worked after.Sadly were a few days out of the. return period so I have to seek warranty support. If that requires me having to ship it...I may just throw it away and buy something reliable.When you are on the water you cannot trust an unreliable motor and thus one has failed badly.Update: put in a claim with Newport. They got back to me quickly and sent out a new trolling motor that day. They did the right thing. I could not find and negative reviews so I bought one. I've used it several times and like it. I have it mounted on the stern of my 15-foot jon boat and power it with a group 27 battery. I've used it for 4-5 hours of fishing and so far have not killed the battery. Time will tell how well it holds up. Mounted easily on stern of an older 15' Boston Whaler. Motor pushes boat along quite nicely even at lower speeds. I am confident I could use this motor all day to position boat and move around the shoreline starting with a fully charged marine battery. I did not like the speed difference between the forth and fifth position.
