Review: The best CPAP mask system, and the only one that works for me - Some history for context (skip 2 paragraphs to get to the Bleep): I've had the usual sleep apnea symptoms (headache, brain fog, short term memory loss) for the past 3 years, was first diagnosed and tried CPAP with the default settings (APAP 4-20, FLEX level 2) and the DME just gave me a ResMed F20 mask without explaining the different mask types or anything. I used the CPAP and didn't experience any improvement, but I saw some forum users say it took them a few months so I kept trying. But after 8 months and zero improvement, I told the doctor that and that's when he told me to stop using CPAP, so I did stop for a year and a half. My health continued to decline during that time. It got so bad I felt like I had to try the CPAP again, but again felt zero improvement, and that's when I found Lanky Lefty videos and made pressure settings adjustments, turned FLEX/EPR off, and added the cervical collar, and finally, I felt the tiniest hint of improvement for the first time ever in 3 years. After watching those videos I realized how important the mask was, so I started looking into several masks to find what would work for me. I tried several other masks too (F30i, N30i, P30i), but I saw some folks raving about the Bleep on cpaptalk forums and I decided to give that a try. On the Bleep itself: The Bleep system is unlike any other CPAP mask system, so it has a learning curve. I suggest starting with Bleep's instructional video on Youtube. For several nights I had difficulty getting the adhesive to stay on all night, so I contacted Stuart from Bleep and got the best customer service I could possibly ask for. He responded immediately and gave me several things to try. I tried his suggestions and found success that same night. Here's what ended up working for me: 1. Prep the skin with 70% isopropyl alcohol on the nose and around it. Wipe it immediately to dry. 2. Apply Smith & Nephew Skin-Prep® Protective Barrier Wipes around the nose as well. Give it a minute and let it dry on its own so that the protective barrier forms. 3. Trim the ends of the Dreamports off, then apply the Dreamports according to Bleep's instructions, making sure there are no air gaps or creases - if there are, that will definitely result in a leak at some point during the night. 4. Use Hypafix Retention Tape to reinforce the Dreamports. Again make sure there are no air gaps or creases. Currently I'm using 4 pieces of tape on all 4 sides around the Dreamports, which might be overkill but it definitely works. The hypafix is much stronger adhesive, and that's why the skin prep barrier in step 2 is necessary - without it the adhesive is too strong for the skin and can harm the skin when removing it. The result with Bleep? Better AHI results that don't need as much pressure. See the attached images for screenshots of OSCAR software - the data speaks for itself and in particular, the complete absence of unintentional leaks from the Bleep system is incredible. More importantly, I do feel noticeable improvements in the morning and throughout the day. I finally feel like CPAP is working and, while I still have all of those symptoms at the moment, I do feel confident that I will recover within the next few months or so. At this point, while playing with pressure settings I'm just trying to squeeze out the last bit of performance to get even better sleep if I can. The good thing is that even while playing with settings and searching for improvement, I've never had a bad night with Bleep since I made the adjustments that Stuart suggested. Every night for the past few nights with Bleep has been pretty good, much better than the best nights with any other mask, so even if I don't find the absolute best settings, I still feel like I'm making slow but certain progress towards recovery. Unfortunately too many doctors and DMEs don't have time for you (after taking your money) so if your CPAP treatment isn't going well you get thrown under the bus, so sleep apnea patients are on their own. My experience with my sleep doctor and DME misled me to believe that CPAP doesn't work for me, and I ended up suffering for a lot longer than I needed to. Fortunately Lanky Lefty and Stuart from Bleep are better than most sleep doctors - they're more knowledgeable about CPAP treatment, actually care about people with sleep apnea and give them the time of day, and will work with them until they reach a solution. The setup for Bleep might look intimidating or not worth the hassle. But it only feels that way for the first few nights. After building habits, it's really quite easy, and I don't mind it at all knowing that it will give me the quality sleep I haven't been able to get in so long. And one tradeoff is that the Dreamports being disposable means there's one less thing to clean. Constantly needing to buy Dreamports might be another thing that turns users away, worried that it's too expensive. But as Bleep is objectively better than any other CPAP mask system out there, and the only one where I have felt noticeable improvements, I don't feel the price is too high at all. The real waste of money was the doctors and DMEs who took my money and misled me into believing CPAP couldn't work for me, only to let my health continue to decline with no help or answers. I can't thank Stuart enough for developing this product, I really don't know what I would do without it.
Review: tubing works with RESMED Airsense 11, but.... - I have a RESMED Airsense 11 and the Bleep tubing does work with it. The tubing just fits into the existing tubing using a little plastic piece. Keep in mind that with the Airsense 11, the tube is always coming out of the top of your head. This system makes the tube come off your nose...a whole different setup. I sleep in the "prayer" position with my hands under the side of my face and I got tangled in the hose quite a bit. While the tubing fits, it's a short piece of tubing and no where near worth the price they are charging for it....especially as tubing has to be changed out periodically. I cannot see myself continuing to use this system for a few reasons, and cost is a LARGE factor. My second issue is those nose pieces. I want to love this system, it makes so much more sense to me then what I've been using, but I can't get them to work. I have read the directions, watched the video's, etc. and I don't see where I'm doing anything wrong but I simply cannot get a tight seal that lasts. My problem appears to be the width of my septum, lol. When I put the first port on, the adhesive around it is so wide it not only covers my septum, but protrudes over the other nostril. Then when I try to put the second port on, instead of sticking to skin, it's sticking to the first port and won't make a tight seal. In my pictures I'm trying to show you how they overlap. I originally tried the 10 and 2 position they tell you to use and it just wasn't working. So then I looked at the adhesive surrounding the ports, tried to find the narrowest part, and tried to align them so that the least amount of adhesive went over my septum but it still caused the same issue. I bought the witch hazel wipes they suggest and tried wiping the top of the adhesive on the first one so that the second one would stick to it but there's always this tiny gap where air gets out. I've never been told I had an unusually small nose, lol, so I'm not sure if it's that or something I'm doing wrong. Problem is that every night I try again, I end up wasting a set of ports. I wasted half of these constantly trying to get them to seal and then gave up. At $1 a night for the ports, and over $50 for a new hose every time, coupled with my inability to get a tight seal over my septum, I'm not a fan.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Ridiculous price
*by E***R on October 19, 2022*

This is the best system I have found for cpap usage. It eliminates the facial marks from straps. It took almost a year of using this system for those depressions and color differences on my face to go away. I have a problem with pricing though. This connector kit in particular is EXORBITANTLY over priced. It is clearly being used as a way to take advantage of the user. There is absolutely no reason other than greed that this item should cost over $50. This item is at best made from $5 worth of plastic using injection molding processes. Even if I'm wrong and it cost $20 for materials and labor a $57 price is a gross profit and unethical. Yes, I'm paying it because there is no other choice, but I won't forget this ridiculousness and when there is another choice I can guarantee that I will move on and not return. Thanks for the great product but I should be able to affordits use and not hold onto worn out equipment because replacement pieces are over priced.
