Better than a private lesson. Best way is just to put the guitar down and watch the video. First disc is 2 hours and covers technique. 2nd disc covers music. Get comfortable, watch the video over and over again. Nothing about it is tedious, no detailed explanations on technique, just the basics. Then when it's time to get to work go to the book and pretend you have an assignment for next week and work on a section. I started with a lot of music and guitar knowledge but a complete beginner on Flamenco. Takes a while to just count. Once you get the counting down the rest seems to start to fall into place.Juan is a fabulous teacher and obviously loves the music and shares that love above the technique.Although reading standard notation isn't necessary, it only takes about 20 minutes to learn and is helpful in explaining the theory behind the music but tabs are included or you could just do it by ear. . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for beginner and intermediate players. *by R***8 on Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2018* I have been practicing flamenco guitar for almost two years on my own which had led me to pick up lots of bad habits. Thankfully, the DVD and instructor are fun and engaging, so you won't be bored.
