I have even sprayed it with fire retardant, and it did not disintegrate. I have used this in my classroom for years (first purchased in early 2021). Since that time, I have moved classrooms at least 4 times. This lantern collapses for travel, and is easy to reinstall. Changing out the lightbulb is fairly simple. Recently, a colleague complained that her part of the room was too dim. I purchased a second one of these for her and it has brightened up the space. This is a pleasant feature to have in our room. It provides soft lighting that supports a calm environment. The 15' cord is great for going across the ceiling and down the wall to an outlet. I think I would prefer a 20' cord, as access to outlets is tricky in my room.
