Magefesa actually used to recommend this for pressure frying and included a recipe for pressure fried chicken with the instruction manual. Silicone gasket will NOT melt. They more than likely do not recommend pressure frying anymore because people don’t pay attention and you must not be distracted by cell phone etc when using. Like others have said. No matter how tight I tighten it, it leaks steam from the sides** A: You have to turn the triangle shaped handle on top as hard as you can. It has to be very tight or it leaks. Also, there should be a clear rubber gasket in the lid. All the steam should shoot out of the pressure valve. Later on, I figured out that the knob has to be turned tight all the way, and it worked fine ever since then. It requires some force that I hope I will still have when I am 80.
