**Q: Is the case protective**
A: Yes the case is very protective. The instrument was a great by my daughter loves it.

**Q: Has the first valve issue been fixed and is this a good horn to play on?**
A: Yes

**Q: Is this mello for pros? Or is it just a good quality for beginners.**
A: It is a very good one for beginners to pros and for drum corps use. It is a Chinese made version of the DEG Dynasty. I use it in the Shriners drum corps

**Q: Can this one have the other slide inserted to change it to a Bb?**
A: No way. It's built for F. You would have to significantly shorten this to be in Bb. All slides would need to be proportionally chopped to bring partials into pitch as well as the over all tuning length.  As a brass tech for 31 years, I can tell you that would not work out.

I was worried this would not be the greatest instrument based on price but has turned out to be really good. Our son has been learning to play for Marching Band and has had no issues. It works great and sounds good.

This horn has a beautiful rich deep mellow sound. In fact if you Google mellophone ratings you'll find a review thats rates a handful of the best mellophones and this Moz in nickel comes in as number two just behind the Yamaha for its rich mellow sound. I love it and I play it with both the french horn mouthpiece and the regular mouthpiece. The french horn mouthpiece produces a much quieter sound.
