Thanks** A: I learned, through a YouTube video, that there are 3 different types of white Hario V60 filters being sold by Hario these days, sold in three different types of packaging. The original un-tabbed filter with the thinner paper and faster drip time is made in Japan, sold in a box, and is available only in the 40 count size. All other sizes come from one of the other two factories that are currently making Hario filters. The "crinkly bag" package of tabbed filters is made in a different factory in Japan. It's the one labelled "flexible." The material is thicker and the brew time is longer. A third kind, also tabbed, sold in shrink-wrap, is made in the Netherlands. Its brew time is longest of the three. If you're looking for the original un-tabbed filter, buy the box of 40. **Q: Are these the same as Melitta #4 filters or will they work in melitta type machines?** A: Not the same as Melitta #4's, which are larger than these. I fold down Melitta #4 to use in my Hario V60 (which would use this Hario no 2 filter) when in a pinch, since the Melitta filters are widely available near me.
