These aren't the plastic ones, so not made for crazy abuse, obviously. But definitely made of good and sturdy thick paper, as described, and perfect for my use (I use them for organizing houshold/personal paperwork and documents). I really like the colors (blues, black and red) and prefer them to a lot of the preschool-looking colors (bright primary) folders often come in.
