There are cables on the market where every single pin is individually connected through the cable. Cables like that are the only ones that are 100% compatible with everything. This isn't one of them.This cable individually connects pins 1, 2, 3, 13 and 14 as all VGA cables must. This cables is a step above that minimum and also individually connects pins 9, 10, 12 and 15 which is nice.This cable ties together pins 6, 7, 8 and 11 to ground as most VGA cables do. For some high-end display setups having each ground pin individually connected through the cable would improve image quality. This cable doesn't do that. It would also be more compatible with other non-display applications if those pins were individually connected too.This cable does not connect pins 4 and 5 at all. It would be more compatible with other non-display applications if those pins were individually connected.In summary this is a decent VGA cable at a good price. It connects more pins than the bare minimum but if you're looking for a cable that would be guaranteed to be 100% compatible with every possible application then look elsewhere for a cable that connects every pin. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars ViewHD Mini Converter - VGA to HDMI *by V***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2020* Using the ViewHD converter to connect an old-style VGA KVM switch and a modern HDMI KVM switch. It works surprisingly well.More info: I have some older computers (486, Pentium III, and a Xeon server with VGA connector) all connected to a TrendNet VGA/audio jack KVM switch. The VGA and audio output of that TrendNet switch goes into this converter, and HDMI is output. The output of the converter goes into a second TESmart KVM HDMI switch, which is shared with a modern computer and laptops. All that good stuff goes into a 4K monitor. The 4K monitor splits the audio back out from the HDMI to some speakers.The ViewHD converter comes with a USB power cord, but not an adapter. I am currently powering the ViewHD adapter with the TrendNet KVM USB port, and I have not had any problems so far using the KVM as a power source.I must admit, the video quality is quite good. It's not the clearest image, but it's more than adequate to eliminate the need for an older VGA monitor that I was holding onto specifically for that purpose. It also eliminated the need for a second set of speakers, and I now have one monitor and one set of speakers for seven unique systems. Now if I could only do the same for the keyboard and mouse!All the operating systems I'm using (Windows 3.1, 98, XP, 7, 10) just detect the monitor as a default or plug-and-play monitor. The converter will support some wide screen resolutions if your video card will do the same. For example, 1080p is supported under windows 98 and later, but I prefer to keep resolutions lower for those older operating systems.The converter does get a little warm to the touch during operation, but not what I would consider hot.I almost took off one star just due to a nit. The VGA screw posts are very difficult to attach to a VGA cable. I had to resort to some needle nose plyers to make sure the cable wouldn't come off. The picture on my kitchen TV isn't crystal clear, but it's still watchable. There's really nothing else out there that will work, unless you fish HDMI cable through the walls to a newer TV with HDMI in it. I have a Mac Mini, and I wanted to watch TV in my kitchen from my Mac Mini, instead of my desktop computer. This was the way to go, since I have an old school TV that only has RCA hookups on the back of it. And now, VGA doesn't work with newer Apple products. Must be newer configuration or something. But this thing works. I have to see how good it transmits sound. It works with my HDMI connected to my big screen TV in my living room, and I wanted to also transmit picture and sound into my kitchen as well. This does the trick. But I have to see about the sound. I have the little 3.5mm jack plugged in my "earphone" jack in the Mac Mini, but I think it shuts the sound off to my living room TV. But I have to see. I'm downloading a movie. It does run rather warm pretty quickly, so you probably should unplug the USP port which powers up this little unit, after you're done watching. That's the only pet peeve.... For sound, I could probably connect a little audio transmitter and transmit the sound to my radios and turn my radios on to the channel I have it at. I still own those little transmitters where you can bring your CD player and send sound to your radio. I can use those to do that. Well, just tested the sound. The sound doesn't really work at all. It's not transmitting sound. But there's ways I can probably get around that. Like the transmitter. I have everything also hooked up to my Bose radio that has an earphone jack. Or I can use a splitter from where my TV is hooked up for sound and put a splitter on it... It's no big deal really. I just wanted to be able to watch in the kitchen.
