It was such a hit I bought another at full price to enlarge our collection. I think sometimes it is tempting to buy toys that are a little 'beyond' our children, so they get maximum use out of them. This is perhaps aimed at slightly younger children, and that meant my son needed no help using it - he could just look at the pictures on the box and build his creations. Plus the pieces are nice and sturdy, so his homemade light sabers and fishing rods can withstand boisterous play. We've never had that problem (unless my daughter is trying to accomplish the impossible). Gramma has the original wooden TinkerToys, and I find these to be a big improvement.
