Review: Very pleased - I am very pleased with this lock. I've used a plastic Master TSA lock before - the thing was a pain. It was way too easy to accidentally change the combination, and the shackle was too short to easily get through the trunk I was locking. In addition, getting the shackle lined up and re-locked was difficult because of the length of the shackle. This lock, on the other hand, is terrific. Easy to change the combination to what I want, but hard to do so accidentally. Very solid. Easy to latch to my trunk, and easy to lock. As TSA locks go, this in the only one I will consider in the future.

The loop is long enough to work on most baggage. The loop is fairly thin, so this won't protect against a determined thief with bolt cutters, but that's not what this lock is meant to guard against. As a defense against opportunistic thieves, this does the trick.

**Q: how can i set my own combination numbers of my PELICAN 1500-518-000 1506 TSA Lock**
A: I think it comes set to "000," to open.  So put on 000 or whatever the initial open number is, then use tip of ball point pen to press on little dimple button on edge of the lock.  While that dimple is pressed in, put in the numbers you want. The lock will be reset to the numbers you put in.

**Q: I forgot my password on the pelican lock. How do i change it**
A: For anyone who forgets the code, you will need to start at 000 and count up: 001-002-003-004…and so on until you get to the correct combination. When you get to 009, the next number will be 010 and so on.  After 099, you will go to 100. If you set a low combination, you will find it much quicker to re-discover the combo if you forget. If you set it to 999, you will need to go through all 1,000 combinations to find the correct combo unless you start at the top and work down instead of working up.  There’s no way around the pain in the butt for these locks except to throw out the lock and buy a new one.

**Q: Could i use this for a bike lock?**
A: Yea but I wouldn’t. I can cut this with good wire cutters. Get a real lock. This is good for airport travel only.

**Q: Will this fit a zipper locking point (two zippers come together for a locking point) .. hole is exactly 1/8" round .. will the lead end and cable fit?**
A: The end piece that "latches" to the lock itself is tiny. It fits through the holes in my pelican. a 1510 in case you want to research the size. But...i would say order one try it out. They're cheap and if works...Viola.

I am very pleased with this lock. I've used a plastic Master TSA lock before - the thing was a pain. It was way too easy to accidentally change the combination, and the shackle was too short to easily get through the trunk I was locking. In addition, getting the shackle lined up and re-locked was difficult because of the length of the shackle. This lock, on the other hand, is terrific. Easy to change the combination to what I want, but hard to do so accidentally. Very solid. Easy to latch to my trunk, and easy to lock. As TSA locks go, this in the only one I will consider in the future.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good lock for Pelican case

We use several Pelican cases to ship equipment. I had been using Brookstone cable locks, but tried this Pelican brand lock. It costs more than the Brookstone ones, but is very well built. I only consider these locks enought to keep prying eyes and fingers out of the cases during transport, and they are TSA compliant (which means TSA can open them with a key). This lock is also larger and heavier than the Brookstones ones, but I think it is more secure. For cases, I highly recommend the Pelican locks. The cable fits the heavy plastic mounts on the cases, which smaller locks will not. For a cary-on bag, this might be too heavy. Overall, a great product for its intended use. Also, Pelican stands by its products, replacing flashlights and furnishing broken latches on cases. A fine company.
