Plan your moves to make savvy purchases which gain you the most points. Your strategy can adjust as the game unfolds!
At the start of the game, players have ten dollars, some resources and three cards.
Play a card to gain resources and increase the value of certain resources.
Sell one type of resource at the current market cost to get cash.
Acquire a Building by paying its cost and immediately gain the building's power.
Auction a Railroad card to buy it and add it to your play area. Collect more in the set to score big points!
Obtain a Town card with resources to gain points, and pair 'em with Railroad cards for even more points!

**Q: How does this game compare to Monololy?**
A: Raccoon Tycoon is as easy to learn as Monopoly but keeps everyone engaged throughout the game via its simple action mechanic. On a player's turn, a player can perform one of 5 actions. There's very little luck involved (compared to Monopoly's dice rolling) and there's no player elimination. We've heard many people say that this game replaced Monopoly on their game shelf!

**Q: Does this have wood bits, or just the cardboard?**
A: Cardboard, and -terrible- quality.  My copy has more than a few resource token peeling apart, after only a few games.

**Q: I want to give this as a christmas gift to an adult gamer  should i get this one or the deluxe? what is the difference?**
A: The deluxe version (without the raccoon on the cover) offers wooden bits and larger, tarot-sized cards to show off the amazing artwork. The standard version has cardboard bits and standard size cards. While both versions offer the same exact gameplay, it might be difficult to find the deluxe version since that was printed only once for a kickstarter.

**Q: Would you buy this to play exclusively at 2 players? How long does a 2 player game last? Thanks in advance.**
A: I’ve never played 2 player. I’ve always played 3-4. 
Honestly I think you need at least 4 players to make this game truly enjoyable. 
However you could definitely play 2 player to try and develop new strategies and even just to learn the main mechanics of the game.
