It has great ergonomics and probably the best factory edge I've ever seen on a tool. The only challenge will be deciding what you want to make with it! UPDATE: I added a picture of my first carving. I used the same basswood blanks found here on Amazon. I also have some insights: 1. This tool is a great value. It won't last forever, but it will last long enough to get you interested in carving and teach you some techniques. I have finally planned, started, and finished a carving, instead of just fiddling around like I did before. Any tool which has the power to get a person over that initial hump is very valuable! 2. You need a GOOD knife. A v-tool alone can accomplish a lot, but the knife is used to make a lot of the stop cuts and pull cuts which help you take out chips of wood in a controlled way. You cannot fully gauge the ability of a tool like this one unless you ALSO have an equally good knife. I was using a cheap utility knife, which bottlenecked me in many ways.
