## Questions & Answers

**Q: What makes wiregate carabiners better for all-around climbing?**
A: Wiregates reduce total weight and lower the risk of gate flutter during sudden falls. They are also less prone to freezing in cold alpine conditions, making them a durable, reliable choice for sport, trad, and winter cragging.

**Q: What length quickdraw should I choose for my rack?**
A: The 12 cm length is the classic standard for sport climbing, offering lightweight convenience. The 16 cm length helps reduce rope drag on winding routes. Many climbers build a rack with a mix of both for maximum versatility.

**Q: What is the purpose of the colored bottom carabiner?**
A: The colored bottom biner acts as a visual target for faster rope clipping. It also helps you identify which end is designated for the rope, preventing sharp metal burrs from bolt hangers from damaging your climbing line.

**Q: How does the Straitjacket insert work?**
A: The internal Straitjacket TPU rubber insert grips the bottom carabiner securely inside the polyester runner. This stops the biner from rotating or flipping, keeping it stabilized in the optimal orientation for easy clips.

**Q: Can I use the HotWire Quickdraw for both sport and trad climbing?**
A: Yes. HotWire quickdraws feature a hot-forged design that balances lightweight efficiency with durability. Built with a wide rope-bearing surface, they excel on sport crags, alpine multi-pitches, and technical trad routes.
