Review: Perfect for increasing light while I’m waiting for my cataracts to ripen. - Great value, very little surface to collect dust, simple design looks classic and unobtrusive. Easy to tape down on top of upper shelf so I can’t pull it down accidentally yet no harm to lamp. I’m using GE relax 1600 lumens (equivalent to 100W standard bulb, but safe because less heat output than the 40W specification.) I’m using these lamps to add light in walk-in clothes closet, sewing area and game table dining area while my cataracts are ripening. Everything looks so dim to me, but these lamps are GREAT. I may keep them after cataract surgery because they look GREAT, and nice to have bright lights on things sometimes!

**Q: Cord length?**
A: Description says 5 feet. All those complaining about bulb poking out, the shade comes upside down in the packaging. Just unscrew the shade and turn right side up.

**Q: What is the shade attached to? If it’s the light bulb, it wobbles. If it’s on the base, the shade is too low. How do you set the lamp up?**
A: There is socket nut that is pre installed on the socket your remove that and attached the shade and screw the socket nut back on the lamp, to keep the shade in place.  If the shade is "to low" you have put it on upside-down.

**Q: Is there a lamp shade size, or a link for a replacement?**
A: Honestly don’t waste your money on this. They sell taller and sturdier ones at Walmart. Wish I didn’t buy this.

**Q: does this lamp 110 v? or 220 v?**
A: 110v

First one arrived smashed, which clearly happened in transit. They had a replacement sent very quickly which I appreciated. The lamp is super cute and exactly the style and size I had in mind. I took off a star because black is an awful choice for the cord. Gold or even white or brown would blend so much better. The black is really distracting aesthetically. It has an on/off switch halfway down the cord which is nice. If the cord was any color but black, it’s 5 stars all the way.
