Review: Tasty Tuna! - I was made aware of Ortiz Bonito Del Norte Tuna by a Chef. This tuna tastes like and looks like tuna should. Chunks in the can are pink and flakey -- the aroma flows once the can is opened. I used two cans to stuff olives with tuna and peppers then breaded and fried the olives. Yummm! With the third can I made tuna sandwiches -- tuna with Mayo and diced sweet pickles on sourdough bread. Makes me smile just thinking of what tasty tuna treat is next. Highly recommend.

I ate it plain, and threw some on a regular salad. I never do this with plain Jane tuna. My expensive, imported tuna transformed into an investment in a very special product. I used to wonder why Giada would use a canned tuna on her live cooking show, and now I know why. Only wish I had more of this tuna so I could experiment with some tuna, white beans, onions, salad, vinaigrette.... Oh, I'm sorry! I got carried away! The tuna was really good, but I'm not too sure that it is 6 or 7 times the value of a can of Starkist tuna. Really good to be eaten directly from the can. Great flavor and moist. Only for special occasions.
