I have a forever headache and get frequent migraines. I tried so many prescriptions for my daily migraine control and I got tired of the side effects. My doctor told me to take Petadolex butterbur, which is the specific brand my neurologist recommended because it is PA free. The PA, pyrrolizidine alkaloids, can damage lungs, liver, blood circulation and possibly cancerous. So whatever butterbur, it has to be PA free. This is the brand he recommends. For awhile he supplied me with coupons, but I believe it is $75.00 for three months of Petadolex. And because it is not a prescription med, this is out of out of pocket. The rest of the migraine formula involves taking 600 mg of magnesium, 400 mg of riboflavin, and 150 mg of CoQ10.I found that other than the internet B2 (Riboflavin) is hard to find. And if I find a $7.00 bottle there are 100 pills at 100 mg, I need 400 mg, at twice a day so that means that bottle is only 12.5 days supply. CoQ10 runs about $30.00 to $40.00 to get the right dosage. Magnesium is the least expensive but again you have to take multiple pills to usually get the right dosage so one bottle is rarely a months worth.The Dolovent has additional vitamins and minerals for brain health.You take two pills, twice a day. The cost comes out to be a savings for me and it saves me a lot of time and a lot of putting around to find my vitamins. This program along with Botox every 12 weeks has been a regiment that keeps my migraines down and my daily headache less annoying. I have been taking Petadolex for about 6 years now, I do a regular blood panel and health screening yearly. Everything is working well.I would highly recommend this regiment. Prior to the Botox and the vitamin route, I was averaging four to five migraines a week, and at least two a month knocked me completely out of commission. I stopped migraine numerological medications four years into my treatment and began this. I lowered my episodes to 8 a month from 16 to 20. I started Botox three years ago and lowered my episodes to 3 a month and I do not have side effects. (Previous side effects were hair loss, bleeding gums, weight gain, homicidal thoughts, limbs falling asleep, feelings of being in a perpetual fog). The science in those drugs may have improved, but after four years of being the bald fat girl with bleeding teeth who occasionally fell over and felt major rage - this is a fantastic change of pace. My life is mine again. And I don’t have to miss any more time with my family and friends.Cost wise it works out. And as far as my personal migraine episodes, they have lowered significantly for me. I do recommend this treatment.
