Before going gluten-free I ate more than my fair share of bagels, including on the streets of NY *and* Montreal (and Oakland too!), and I have to say, this is one of the best tasting "plain bagels" I've ever purchased in a grocery store β€” I can't wait to try the other flavors. Odd Bagels are far better than anything made by folks on farms on ridges overlooking peppers, far better than anything made by anybody named Thomas or Sara Lee (those aren't bagels they're round bread with holes) β€” but these actually taste like bagels that were cooked properly, which is to say boiled and baked!I found these gluten-free plain bagels at Berkeley Bowl West and picked them up for a brunch we were hosting. I couldn't believe how well they replicated a decent bagel without any wheat or egg.
