Review: Great circuit charge control switch. - Used this circuit in combination with a small Mono, crystalline, solar panel, led flame diode , lithium battery, old oil lamp, on a decoration for Halloween. Works great. Circuit charges the battery during the day. Sends the stored energy in the battery to the diode light one the solar panel stops sending voltage to the circuit. Switching on the light. The price is great. The quality is top notch. Perfect welds. Great value. Buying more to build some more yard gizmos
Review: They work. - I had a fancy solar light with the controller integrated into the light board...It failed, so I bypassed the controller and hooked this up inline to handle the charging and auto on/off function... They are working perfectly for months now. I will say they have a little more variance as to when they turn on and off but that is partially due to the solar panels volts out and partially due to the chips just being less sensitive probably... Anyway I used two of them, didn't test the third, both turn on within about five minutes of each other and work flawlessly.

**Q: Would this work for a lead acid battery?**
A: This controller would not work well for lead acid batteries. (wrong voltage/current curves). Something like the Ardest module (also available on Amazon) is designed for both applications. Depending on the size of the battery, the current ratings on the solar panels used might be considerably higher than the small lithium batteries used in solar devices,

**Q: Doesn’t charge? the battery, 3.7v 1000mah, isn’t being recharged, comes on and off via solar cell, 5v 30ma. once drained, does not rechange. no switch**
A: For a 1000mah/3.7 volt battery, solar panel will have to be putting out at least 7-10 volts at at least 300ma

**Q: So this apparently has reverse current protection but does it include overcurrent protection?**
A: no, that is why you have to use a protected battery.

**Q: Given a constant voltage input- say 5v solar cell in - is the output voltage and current constant or does it vary with battery state of charge?**
A: Output is constant regardless of battery charge as long as the sun is a consistent brightness.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for Solar Device Repair

Used this for repair of a solar string light set that stopped charging its battery. This works, but it's not quite as smart as what it replaced. For example, our tiki torches cause it to flicker and I need to cover the panel to get them to come on fully. This panel is right next to another set that either is not sensitive to the torches. Another thing I noticed is that all of my other lights turn off between midnight a 2am. However, the one repaired with one of these boards stays on all night and just gets dimmer as the night goes on. They will stay on until the sun comes up. Still happy with these, just FYI.
