It forms a flexible, heat-resistant seal that withstands up to 500°F and resists all fuels and solvents, ensuring long-lasting tank integrity with just one easy application. ## Description Gold Standard Tank Sealer is the fuel tank coating KBS Coatings makes in Valparaiso, Indiana. Pour it in, roll the tank to coat every surface, and it cures into a flexible silver film that seals pinholes and weld seams and stops rust from coming back. It is impervious to all modern fuels and alcohol additives once cured. For the best bond, prep with KBS Klean and RustBlast first, or buy one of the KBS Tank Sealer Kits that include all three steps. Never reuse sealer drained from one tank in another. ## Features - ONE-PART FUEL TANK SEALER: Gold Standard Tank Sealer is a ready-to-use, single-component moisture-cured urethane. No mixing. It bonds directly to prepped rust and cures into a lightly pigmented silver coating that seals pinholes and weld seams. - SEALS TANKS UP TO 25 GALLONS (QUART): Tank Sealer covers about 100 sq ft per quart at 2 mils. The 8 oz can seals tanks up to 5 gallons, a pint up to 12, a quart up to 25 and a gallon up to 100. - MADE FOR TODAY'S FUEL: Once cured, Gold Standard Tank Sealer is impervious to all modern fuels and alcohol additives, including E10, E15 and E85 ethanol blends and diesel, and to most solvents. A properly coated tank is rated to 600°F operating temperature. - PREP MAKES IT STICK: Use the KBS 3-step system: KBS Klean, then RustBlast, rinse once and dry completely. Seal within 10 days of prep. For steel, aluminum and fiberglass tanks; plastic tanks need the KBS Plastic Tank Sealer Kit. - APPLY AND CURE: Stir gently and never shake the can. Pour it in, rotate the tank for up to 30 minutes to coat every surface and drain the excess. Cure 96 hours at 55 to 82°F with the openings open. Don't use heat or direct sun to speed it up. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00DMIEG9S | | Best Sellers Rank | #65,486 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #204 in Care Corrosion & Rust Inhibitors | | Brand Name | KBS Coatings | | Color | sILVER | | Compatible Material | Aluminum, Fiberglass, Metal | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (458) | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00818032011174 | | Included Components | 1 Quart of Tank Sealer | | Item Dimensions | 4.2 x 4.3 x 4.7 inches | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Highlight | Seals gas tanks up to 25 gallons.
