## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this work on a regular phone line?**
A: The "regular phone line" they call "analog."  Their analog product is the VCS702 which has 1 fixed microphone and 2 wireless microphones.  The VCS704 has 2 fixed microphones and 4 wireless microphones. But, best I can tell, they do NOT support Bluetooth like this SIP phone does. So, if you want a VTech Bluetooth conference/speaker phone, then you have to get this SIP one...which is annoying. I can't find a quality analog conference phone (regular phone line) that also supports Bluetooth.

**Q: is this phone cordless?**
A: No.  It is a SIP-based (VoIP) phone and it requires an ethernet connection to the LAN. It is powered by PoE.  We found that our PoE switches in the server room did not supply the unit with enough power and we had to use the PoE injector provided with the phone.  We made the assumption it could be powered with our PoE switches, but the documentation clearly states that it can't.  That was our bad.  We were able to put the PoE injector in the server room so that in the conference room the phone only has the ethernet connection to the floor jack.  Very clean solution.  BTW, we have an onsite ShoreTel phone system, so the addition of the non-ShoreTel SIP phone required a SIP device license key ($15).

The 4 microphones ARE wireless and the sound quality is excellent compared with our old analog Polycom conference phones.  I highly recommend this phone.

**Q: Will this phone work with RingCentral?**
A: Yes, this phone should work with the Ring Central BYOD plan. You'll need to gain the SIP credentials, then provision it yourself though. This shouldn't be hard if you can follow basic instructions.

**Q: Does the model have an Aux out port on the bottom, to pump audio out to speakers?  Or is there a diff model whcih has this?**
A: Unfortunately, no - the speaker and mics are all self contained.
