Very happy to see that this was offered.
We ordered the mailbox and realized we needed to have a secure item for it. Thank you Amazon for offering this product and not having to look all over the place for the item. It worked perfectly. Thank you so much!

Easy to use
I could have built a bracket, but this was so simple: plumb the 4x4 post and stick this bracket on it. Screw it in and finished. The bracket has a good weather resistant finish, and there are multiple holes in pre-punched to adapt to almost any box and mounting situation.Well worth the money.

Facilitates Mailbox Installation On 4x4 Post. Corresponding Holes In Mailbox For Securing To Plate.
Purchased 2 on 05-10-2023 for $12.82.We needed to replace our old, tired mailbox and the 4x4 on which it was anchored. They were 35 years old. RIP.We opted for a large, LOCKABLE Oasis mailbox from Architectural Mailboxes to replace the bread loaf box. There are too many up-to-no-good weasels doing walk-by mail theft, so I suggest you get a LOCKABLE box, too.The new box is much larger and heavier than the aluminum bread box. It's made with galvanized steel and weighs almost 20 pounds. I could screw/bolt it directly into wood, but I chose to use the 4x4 Adapter Kit to get layout options and to facilitate the installation. The Adapter Kit includes the mounting plate, 2 brackets, and hardware (screws, nuts, washers, spacers). The large opening in the center is sized for the common "4x4," so the actual size is 3.5"x3.5".With the included hardware, the 2 brackets first need to be attached to the plate in the orientation to match your layout. The brackets then are screwed onto the 4x4 (or "sistered" 2x4s) with wood screws, and the mailbox is secured to the plate using the matching holes. In my application, I needed to mount 2 mailboxes side-by-side, so I could not attach the plate directly onto the 4x4 center post.I made 2 sets of "sistered" 2x4s to attach to the 4x4. One on the front; the other on the back. A plate and mailbox would go on the left of the post, and another plate and mailbox on the right.Holes were drilled through the center post and the 2 sets of sistered 2x4s. The three were secured together using 2 heavy-duty carriage bolts, torque washers, and nuts.Yes, pressure treated lumber and galvanized steel or stainless steel hardware were used. Plus, I applied multiple, additional coats of wood sealant, too. Each adapter plate is sitting on the 2 sistered 2x4s, front and back. Wood screws from the top through the plate and spacers. Wood screws from the sides through the brackets. The plate is anchored to the sistered 2x4s.The opened Oasis mailbox is placed on the plate. At the open space between the front and back sistered 2x4s, located the hole positions that match between the plate and mailbox, insert screws (bolts), thread on nuts, tighten. When I attached the screws/bolts and nuts, the nuts are INSIDE the mailbox. If the nuts are on the outside, someone can easily remove just the nuts and off comes the mailbox. If the nuts are on the inside, they can't be unthreaded completely without access from the inside, so the mailbox can't be lifted off.So, the plates are anchored onto the sistered 2x4s, and the mailbox is anchored onto the plate. That's the installation method that I chose.I do wish that they had used a heavier gauge sheet metal. It's adequate, but thicker would make it more solid and less prone to "caving." When you (over) drive a screw, the plate does crater from the head of the fastener. If you want, you can eliminate the adapter plate and drive screws directly from the inside of the mailbox into the wood. I elected to use the adapters because they were inexpensive ($12.82 each) at the time of my purchase.FYI, Architectural Mailboxes offers the same adapter that has 4 fixed flanges for the 4x4 instead of the 2 add-on brackets.

Very easy to install
We didn’t have a mailbox for our cabin in the mountains and after finally getting permission to put one up my husband chose this mounting bracket. This mounting bracket is very strong but also very easy to put up. We needed something that was easy to install but also is very strong. This bracket does not disappoint
