Yes you'll find that it's easy to find these, and yes, they'll protect your hands, and yes, they fit really well (like a glove!). The real bonus is the "wonder grip" that they really have. You can hang onto things in a way your own hands won't. I have a pair and bought two for my nephew who is an auto mechanic. He loves them.

I purchased this brand glove from a Do It Best hardware store. The black stuff literally melted -- glove fingers stuck together -- at 76 degrees and left a sticky black residue all over my garden tools. I returned them and complained to the store manager.
