 Hold it under running water for a couple of minutes to get it moist and soft. Then gently massage your face with it without scrubbing. Once it is soft you can wash your face with the sponge and water or you can put your facial cleanser on the sponge. 
 
 The sponge is easy to rinse out and squeeze dry. It comes with a string that runs through it so you can hang it to dry. Use it without soap if you don't want to squeeze it until there's no soap left on the sponge. Change out your sponge every 8-12 weeks.
