You have to learn how to do it, but once you get the hang of it, they're easy to use. Sure, not as easy as a big bulky can opener (though easier than some of those I've used). But certainly a lot easier than opening a can with a knife, etc. Like the old saying goes, it really is all in the wrist.Using them to take out a flat head screw, or trim some fishing line, or cut some twine, etc. is also easy once you get the hang of it. There are a lot of ways to use these, when you think about it.The quality of these ones in particular was super high. I'm very impressed! The metal is thick so they won't bend, and stainless so they won't rust. The blade is plenty sharp to cut right through a tin can, and the hinge is strong keeping the blade where it belongs.And at the price, they're a terrific value! I put one on my keychain, one in my kitchen drawer, one in my tackle box, one in each glove box, and gave a few away to friends.
