I have only had it for 4 days though but I've sat on it all 4 days. I'm 5'4" 255 lbs (ok 260) so I definitely needed a big-girl cushion. I didn't try any other cushion but I read all the reviews on the other non-"heavy duty" ones and a big complaint was that it went flat sitting on it and these people were only 200 lbs. This one was the only one that came up when I Amazon-searched "chair cushion plus size" (or something like that). I read all the reviews on this one because I think 49.99 is a little pricy if something's just going to be "eh". I have not gone to the dr yet but I've been suffering lower back pain that has related nerve-like pain. I suspect a compressed or bulging disc. Or a hip issue. I'm 52 years old. I'm attempting to see if I can relieve the pain by making adjustments in my daily living and a memory foam topper on my bed and a supportive seat cushion are my attempts. This cushion is VERY comfortable. I definitely feel relief sitting on it. Now is it because the cushion is so good or my desk chair's just that bad is kind of hard to differentiate. But I did take this cushion (great it has a handle on the side) to work where the chairs there stink. And it made sitting there all day very pleasant. (The chairs at work would aggravate my hurt too.) This cushion is a definite plus. If it doesn't resolve a back pain issue, then it's probably because a cushion cannot repair whatever's wrong. p.s. make sure you position the cushion with the open slot in the BACK.
