The light was easy to install and I wired it to the 120vac outlet on the side of the generator that is only powered when the generator is running. The flashing light may be difficult to see in bright sunlight, but usually the gen is only needed during storms when the lines are down, so it should be visible when the sun isn't bright. Update, after 3 years, still working great.
