Garlic Guard is an all natural garlic scented odor and flavor enhancer for freshwater and saltwater fish. Our research has shown that many fish are attracted to natural odors, such as garlic. Simply mix Garlic Guard with any food item, such as Sachem's Nutrient Flakes, to attract the interest of finicky eaters, e. g. discus and marine angelfish. Garlic Guard is safe for reef and planted aquariums.

Review: Simple but Effective - I love garlic guard. I have the 500ml bottle and it is a great value, I use it almost daily to soak my pellets and freeze dried brine shrimp to make them more palatable and nutritious. Garlic has an immunity benefit for fish and it is also antifungal/antibacterial so it is very beneficial for your fish beyond stimulating feeding instincts for them. I will give a testimonial for this product: I had a fish that was losing color and not eating because he did not like the pellets because he was wild caught. After using this product everyday on their food he is eating again and has a subtle golden glow coming back. I recommend this product, just only use a small amount enough for the pellets to absorb. You do not want to have a garlic guard puddle after an appropriate time soaking, I soak for about 10-15 minutes but it depends on the pellet size and type since freeze dried foods hydrate almost instantly for me. Overall, simple but great product! It's essentially just garlic juice but fish love it and it can indeed get to some picky eaters. To my knowledge this is shelf-stable so no need to refridgerate and it does not expire which is a plus so a bigger size on sale might be a better option in terms of size to sale.

**Q: and how much garlic do i need to use to soak flakes? 1 drop? 1ml? teaspoon?**
A: the bottle has directions.  I believe it's only 1 or 2 drops per teaspoon.

**Q: Does this need to be refridgerated after opening?**
A: No you don't need to although I do refrigerate it simply because I don't use it all the time. Also just a tip use saran wrap under the cap to help keep the smell down!!

**Q: If I soak biogold betta pellets in this won't it cause then to sink?**
A: Yes

**Q: Will this make your aquarium have a bad odor**
A: You soak your food in this, not add directly to the water, as long as you are not over feeding this should in no way cause your tank to smell
