For years we have been using the YardPup dog waste pickup system, which uses old grocery bags. This product stays outside in the weather and after over 8 years it still performs well. Problem? The grocery bags. We want to get away from using plastic grocery bags for anything. I haven't found a compostable/biodegradable bag that will sustain the elements for about a week to replace them in the YardPup. So we came up with another idea. We will be using the 5 gallon pedal bin, with the 7 gallon biodegradable bags lining the inside bucket and the metal tray/rake system to collect the waste. So we will see how this works and I'll report back. The only complaint was that the waste bin came with two dings already in the lid. The metal is not the strongest and does bend. I was able to partially pop out one of the dings.
