I was going through a construction zone on I-5 in Tacoma, WA right after a rain morning and when a semi in the lane next to me hit a rut filled with water, it was like a fire hydrant spraying on my windshield. I was just expecting a sheet of water to cover my windshield and then hit the barrier in heavy traffic. Well, I was shocked! When the water hit, it beaded up and spread over the windshield to the point that I had plenty of time to hit the wipers and keep driving without ANY CHANGE IN MY DRIVING! Thank you Aquapel for saving my life! Wow! I have been thoroughly impressed with Aquapel. The day after I put the Aquapel on my windshield, a bird decided to leave me a present. Well, it cooked on my windshield for a few days as I was bit scared of washing off the Aquapel like I would be with Rain-X, and when we finally had a light rain, it all washed off. Furthermore, there isn't even an outline of the bird poop on my windshield! It is like nothing even happened! Just awesome. The dirt and dust that accumulated on my windshield during those few days also disappeared without leaving the windshield wiper area cleaner than the rest. I couldn't recommend something more. Next time I will use a little more pressure on the applicator to try and start with a thinner layer... Took a lot longer to clean the glass thoroughly than to apply the product... What are the directions for use, and how often should I typically expect to reapply? Thank you.** A: First, clean your windshield thoroughly using a quality cleaner like Stoner's Invisible Glass. A vinegar/water mix, or isopropyl alcohol will also work. Make sure that the windshield is dry before you apply the Aquapel. Squeeze the two wings together to break the glass capsule inside the applicator, releasing the Aquapel into the felt surface.Wipe the applicator across the windshield horizontally first, and then vertically to ensure complete coverage. I recommend doing half of the windshield at a time. Buff the windshield with a microfiber cloth immediately after applying. Continue buffing until there is no excess product left on the glass, and no haze visible on the glass. It is crucial that you do this immediately, or you will develop a haze on the windshield that takes significant effort to remove. Once you have applied the Aquapel to the windshield, I recommend that you do not use your wipers or spray nozzles for 24 hours after application. Keep the windshield dry for this 24 hour period to allow the product to cure onto the windshield. I typically see about 3 months of good performance between applications, sometimes more depending on wiper usage and weather conditions. **Q: Have any of you used this on your shower doors?** A: Yes, mixed results. I use liquid glass on glass doors etc now. **Q: Does this work on the interior of a windshield too?My interior windshield gets really fogged up when it rains** A: I have not used it on the interior of my windshield because I have no problem with it getting fogged up. The usual reason why it fogs up is due to recycling the air in the vehicle. Allowing the fresh, dry air in from outside while it rains is the best remedy. You can also add air conditioning and defrost with some heat to clear the windshield if you brought moisture in from getting wet in the rain. The air outside is dryer than the air inside due to the fact that the moisture outside has condensed into rain drops. Allowing it in through turning off “Recycle air” feature is the best option. **Q: I live on the coast and sea spray on my windows makes them look foggy. Would this be a good product for home windows?** A: If what you're seeing is dried salt, then no.
