My daughter is of mixed race and has very thick curly hair. Most brushes result in a huge afro.** A: NEVER brush curly hair dry. Always brush curly hair while wet and use some sort of leave-in conditioner or moisturizer that will give it some slip and won’t be as rough when your brush passes through. I’m also mixed race and I only wash my hair once weekly and brush it out twice weekly. I use a spray bottle with water and conditioner mixed inside. fully saturate the hair and then brush starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. curly hair likes to do it’s own thing so the less you mess with it, the better it behaves. **Q: How does this brush compare to The Wet Brush?** A: I have to disagree with others who say the Wet Brush is better, at least for my hair. I have very fine, long hair but a lot of it. While the wet brush will get the tangles out, it takes upwards of two hours or more and comes with much hair pulled out. She did explain to me that issue was as follows:“When a customer decides to return a brush to Amazon, they ship it back to an Amazon warehouse. At that time an Amazon employee takes the product out of the return box and makes a decision as to whether or not it is to be discarded or put back into Amazon inventory. I have told Amazon in the past that all of our returns should be discarded because they are sanitary in nature and should not be used by more than one person. Unfortunately, it appears that they are not following our requests.”I received my package from Kristen today and she sent me TWO new brushes and they were 100% brand new and wonderful. She exceeded my expectations and completely changed my perspective of her company and staff. I had ordered it with eight other things to get faster shipping and it arrived the next day with my other items in a fairly large box. When opening my Amazon package and grabbing the box with the brush inside, I immediately noticed the brush box was damaged and it looked like it had been squished or dropped. Since it came in a big Amazon box I knew that it didn’t happen during shipping so I figured it happened at the factory before being boxed up but it was just the box so I didn’t think much of it. When opening the brush box I immediately saw a dark hair on the brush underneath the plastic... Having blonde hair myself I knew there was no possible way it could have been mine so it was obvious to me that the brush had been purchased by someone else, returned and then shipped off to me which is why the box appeared to be tampered with.
