Review: Excellent sprinkler for small to medium sized gardens. - We had new turf laid into our garden and were told we needed to stay off it for several weeks to let it settle, but it would require watering a couple of times a day through the summer. I wasn't really sure what the best sprinkler option was, having never had to tend to a lawn before. There seem to be various different types, but I felt a traditional oscillating sprinkler best suited the lawn area we have - it's essentially a 10x10m square of lawn. So ideally I needed a sprinkler I could throw in the middle to water. Gardena are a brand I've used many times lately, having centered most of my garden water needs around their products. They're pricier than some rivals, but I find that they're worth the extra money normally, especially if you wait for a sale price. I bought this item at around £30. The construction feels like heavy duty plastic. With the exception of the metal rods in the base, which I believe are for the axis/to rotate. There are a couple of dials to adjust the water streams and direction. The first one adjusts the "throw" which can increase the distance from 3-15m, and then there are dials to change the spread. You can do this on either end of the sprinkler so if you, for example, wanted to avoid the garden shed you could adjust the dial to stop short and open the other side up to go further. It's pretty effective. I tend to set mine up in the centre of the lawn and then adjust it to stop short of the patio on one end, and go full spread on the other. In terms of height I've set it to cover maximum distance without going over the neighbours fence! I think the quality is there for the money. I used it throughout the initial month of settling the lawn and it did a great job. I have since used it periodically during the hot spells in the summer. It's simple to hook up to the hose and place down where you need it. The controls are basic but effective. The water inlet has a built in rust resistant filter to prevent dirt or limescale getting into the sprinkler. This can be removed and washed out. It's worth noting that this is the smaller of three that Gardena sell. It'll cover up to 150m², the next one 250m² and the large does up to 350m² - so there are options available using the same tech - the throw and reach increases with the sizes. Overall good value, effective and feels like will last as long as I need it to. Easy recommendation from me. Review: Excellent lawn sprinkler for larger areas - Great garden sprinkler. Really stable base, and the widest area coverage that I've found. We tried other brands (the yellow one - better for small gardens) and this is the best! ## Features - Flexible irrigation for large lawns: spread, throw and flow are all variable and easy to set - Convenient, without puddles: Connect the sprinkler to your garden hose for a convenient way to evenly water your garden - Adjustable range: You can infinitely and precisely adjust the spray range from 7 to max. 21 m - Robust and durable: The frost-proof sprinkler with metal filter and soft nozzles prevents dirt particles getting in. Maintenance is a breeze - Delivery includes: 1x Gardena AquaZoom L rectangular sprinkler ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07YSTB5K4 | | Best Sellers Rank | 5,742 in Garden ( See Top 100 in Garden ) 16 in Lawn & Garden Sprinklers | | Brand | Gardena | | Brand Name | Gardena | | Colour | black, turquoise, orange | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 out of 5 stars 8,347 Reviews | | EU Spare Part Availability Duration | 7 Years | | Global Trade Identification Number | 04078500048118, 20066283025516 | | Included Components | Components included | | Inlet Connection Size | 13 Millimeters | | Item Dimensions | 60.1 x 9.8 x 24 centimetres | | Item Type Name | AquaZoom L | | Item Weight | 0.84 Pounds | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 60.1 x 9.8 x 24 centimetres | | Manufacturer | GARDENA | | Manufacturer Part Number | 20570-81.000.00 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Product guarantees 0 months. | | Material | Plastic | | Material Type | Plastic | | Maximum Flow Rate | 330 Litres Per Hour | | Maximum flow rate | 330 Litres Per Hour | | Model Number | 20570-81.000.00 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Style | Single | | Style Name | Single | | UPC | 066283025482 066283025512 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Gardena - **Colour:** black, turquoise, orange - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 60.1 x 9.8 x 24 centimetres - **Material:** Plastic - **Style:** Single ## Images ![AquaZoom L rectangular sprinkler: Sprinkler for watering areas of 28–350 m², range 7–21 m, spread 4–17 m, built-in metal filter (18714-20) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61kbgwKoOzL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: will this hook up to my garden hose or do I need a connector or something?** A: It comes with everything you need to hook up to your hose. They don't describe it very well in their packaging so do not buy the additional accessories. **Q: I expected the Gardena Aquazoom to be metal-is there not a metal product with similar features?** A: There are products with more metal but this one is the best all-around that I've found. **Q: Do any of the sprinklers control the height of the water sweep? The older models had a knob but I don't see it on any of these.** A: The best control for height of the spray is water pressure. Adjusting the pattern (width/distance) at a given pressure also affects the height. **Q: I am thinking of getting another one, but concerned about it breaking. How strong are the little adjustments knobs? I change them often. Warranty?** A: I have two of these and love them when they are working. I have large areas to water and it is great for that. I have returned two units, one wouldn't rotate anymore and one was very leaky, water coming out from where it shouldn't. One lasted one year, more or less, one lasted only a few months. Both times I received a new unit under warranty but the postage to return these sprinklers is high and the warranty doesn't cover that. I suspect many people don't take the time and money it takes to return them. I have not had any problems with the adjustments and I also change them often. Hope this helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent sprinkler for small to medium sized gardens. *by T***Y on 29 September 2021* We had new turf laid into our garden and were told we needed to stay off it for several weeks to let it settle, but it would require watering a couple of times a day through the summer.
