So i could cut this 48x24 to custom fit?** A: Yes you definitely can cut it down. I ordered the 24x24 for a 50 gallon cube and the top is 24x24 but the inner area where it has to sit is a little smaller so I had to cut it down. A simple hack saw worked easily. **Q: Would I need to buy 2 separate kits for a 55 gallon tank?** A: You should buy the size that fits or is over the dimensions of your aquarium. i.e. if your 55 gallon tank is 40" x 18", you should get the 48" x 24" sized kit. **Q: i need one for 72×24, can i combine these together** A: No. The units cannot be combined together. You can try making two screens and placing them side by side. **Q: I have a 120 gal tank and i need a 24x48 screen lid, would this fit?** A: Yes. Okay, after all said and done it’s a really good frame and should last forever.I nearly gave myself sores on my fingers trying to snap that spline in place. I discovered that the spline is actually designed to slide into place, but that won’t help at all for installing a screen.For assembly I found the following to be helpful (see video and pics for details)Important: I purchased a 48x24 version. I started assembly on the 24 inch side. It may be helpful for you to do something similar.1. Line up the knots of the screen inside the railing too keep it from interfering with plastic spline.2. Use at least 2 of the Quick Grip Clamps3. Use 1 of the clamps to align the spline on the railing making sure the lip of the spline is inserted first then clamp it down. You’ll hear an audible SNAP when it seats correctly.4. Use additional clamp/s to feed spline into rail keeping the knots in the center of the rail too.I can tell you each time I heard that audible SNAP I celebrated.
