I also own a large Techno CNC router, so I was familiar with the operation. These are actually great little machines if you know at least the basics. I use this his for small scale production of parts and art pieces. I made the two items on the attached pictures with it. Each ran for over an hour, and a single error of the machine would have ruined the piece. As you see, it didn’t. The machine was packaged very well, and I had purchased the Mach 3 software with it. However, on my other bigger machine I use Vectrics VCarve, and I really didn’t like Mach 3. The machine came with a sample of the USBCNC software. That software only allowed 24 lines of code, but I really liked it. For $70 I bought the license and I really like the software. Very easy to learn. In the beginning my machine lost memory a few times and messed up a work piece. In my real job I troubleshoot machines. So I noticed that on the DC motor they use for the router, they use non-shielded wire for the connection between the motor and the motor controller (That little black box). I replaced the original wire, just this one, none of the other ones, and the machine has not had another hick-up since. And I have run some files on it that ran for three hours straight. The router motor that comes with it isn’t the strongest, but I have cut maple with it, oak and lots of plastic. You just have to adjust the feed rate accordingly. You could certainly upgrade the router motor, and I was planning on doing that, but then the three driver motors will have to b changed too and probably the spindles. To me, I use this machine for my smaller projects and as it is, this little machine will do all of those, with no problems. Just do yourself a favor and get the USBCNC software to run it, take a little time to set it up right, and replace the motor wire with a shielded one. As far as what you can cut with it: I cut polycarbonate, ABS, acrylics, maple, oak, pine, plywood, MDF and other stuff.
